Cole attended Arizona State University and majored in sports journalism. While in college, he worked for several sports media companies including PFF, Rivals, and USA Today. He covered the Arizona State Sun Devils as a beat reporter from 2020-2023 and solidified himself as a go-to source for news surrounding the team.
Cole has interviewed the biggest stars in football, such as Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White, Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, and others.
After graduating from ASU in 2023, Cole joined the varsity football coaching staff at Saguaro High School in Scottsdale, AZ.
He was one of the youngest coaches in the state.
Topham worked under current Seattle Seahawks assistant Zak Hill, helping train the team’s quarterbacks and offensive personnel. In Cole’s first season, Saguaro won the 6A State Championship, the 14th state title in school history.
During that time, Cole also worked as a social producer for The College Sports Company, an athlete-driven media brand co-founded by distinguished broadcast personality and former Arizona State tight ends coach Adam Breneman.
Working with partnered collegiate athletic programs — Penn State, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Kentucky — Cole was part of a team that increased total network-wide engagements by 23.1 million (460%) and increased total follower count across all platforms by 633k (+300%) during his employment.
