Cole attended Arizona State University and majored in sports journalism. While in college, he worked for several sports media companies, including Pro Football Focus, Rivals, and USA Today. He covered the Arizona State Sun Devils as a beat reporter from 2020 to 2023 and solidified himself as a go-to source for news surrounding the team.
Cole has interviewed some of the biggest stars in football, including Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White, Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo, and others.
After graduating from ASU in 2023, Cole joined the varsity football coaching staff at Saguaro High School in Scottsdale, AZ.
He was one of the youngest coaches in the state.
Topham worked under current Boise State quarterback coach and former Seattle Seahawks assistant Zak Hill, helping train the team’s quarterbacks and offensive personnel. In Cole’s first season, Saguaro won the 6A State Championship, the 14th state title in school history.
Entering his third season as a coach, Cole was promoted to offensive coordinator, play caller, and quarterbacks coach for the program’s freshman and sophomore junior varsity team.
Cole is also currently working as a social producer for The College Sports Company, an athlete-driven media brand co-founded by former Arizona State tight ends coach, college football influencer, and CBS Sports broadcaster Adam Breneman.
Working with partnered Division I collegiate athletic programs — Michigan, Penn State, Tennessee, Kentucky, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Louisville, BYU, and Kansas — Cole was part of a team that increased total network-wide engagements by 23.1 million (460%) and increased total follower count across all platforms by 633k (+300%) during the first year of his employment.
